Welcome to The Edit. Your New Reason to Stick Around After the Round.

By Brandon Wallach

The round does not have to end when you walk off eighteen anymore. The Edit Social House is open, and it might just become the best part of your day here.

WHAT THE EDIT IS

The Edit Social House is Oakbrook’s new restaurant and bar, built right into the clubhouse experience at Oakbrook Golf & Leisure Club in Lakewood, WA. This is not a snack bar with a laminated menu and a hot dog roller. It is a real kitchen turning out real food, run by Chef James Padilla, in a space designed to be worth staying in long after your last putt drops.

The name is not an accident either. The Edit is a place where the day gets cut down to what actually matters: good food, good drinks, and the people you played with, minus everything else.

THE FOOD AND DRINK

Craft cocktails, local beer, and elevated comfort food, the kind of menu that works whether you are grabbing a quick bite between nines or settling in for a full dinner. Expect a rotating draft list leaning on Pacific Northwest breweries, a cocktail program built around classic technique rather than gimmicks, and a food menu that takes something familiar, a burger, a flatbread, a wedge salad, and executes it properly instead of phoning it in because it is attached to a golf course.

If you have ever eaten clubhouse food that tasted like an afterthought, this is the opposite of that on purpose.

“PLAY A GOOD ROUND, DRINK CHEAP. PLAY A ROUGH ONE, AT LEAST THE FOOD IS GOOD.”

ORDER AT THE TURN, OR STAY A WHILE

Making the turn and want food waiting when you finish? Order at the turn and it will be ready by the time you walk off eighteen. Prefer to finish your round first? Settle in after and stay as long as you want, no rush, no turnover pressure. The Edit works either way, which is exactly the point of building a restaurant around a golf course instead of just near one.

THE DEAL WORTH KNOWING ABOUT

Return your scorecard after your round and get your first beer at a penny per stroke, eighteen holes, with the purchase of any food item. Shoot 82, pay 82 cents. Shoot 110, still cheaper than most bar tabs, and now you have a story to tell while you eat.

A SPOT FOR MORE THAN GOLFERS

You do not need to have played a round to eat here. The Edit is open to the public, and it is quickly becoming its own destination for anyone looking for a solid restaurant in Lakewood, not just golfers looking for a 19th hole. Come for dinner on a Friday even if you have never picked up a club.
